Pain

"No pain, no gain!"

This is a sadistic thing to wish someone. "I wish you pain" sounds like something you'd wish on your worst enemy. But it falls into that same category as rain in your life.

Both rain and pain help us to grow.

As a friend explained to me recently, "It takes both positive and negative to charge a battery."

These stories are painful reminders of how delicate life really can be.

"I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger."
